CRAFTED HOME DESIGN PROJECT FEATURED IN ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS
Saturday, January 17, 2009 - - The whole-house renovation of an 1938 Art Moderne house in the Cherry Creek North neighborhood was featured in the Rocky Mountain News "Homefront" section on January 17. Two full pages of color photography by the News' Ellen Jaskol and story by Nancy Milligan featured The Crafted Home's design for the home's kitchen, master suite, fireplace restoration, billiard room, patio, guest bath and powder bath.
The story also featured The Crafted Home's principal, Steve Ciancio, and his tips for researching renovation and decorating styles for 1930s Art Moderne, Art Deco and Streamline Modern houses.
The Art Moderne house features renovation designs that extend the architecture of the house and add contemporary flair through innovative use of modern and historic materials. For example, the kitchen cabinets are made of Quartersawn English Sycamore, a favorite of Art Deco era furniture designers. In the master bathroom, glass block walls were restored and incorporated into a beautiful new shower stall.
